Description
Ethylene oxide is a toxic and flammable gas. Both the gas and the liquid
is colorless. It is noncorrosive to metals and leaves no odor or taste.
Uses
Ethylene oxide is in most cases used to manufacture ethylene glycol
and higher glycols, which are used as drying agents, antifreezers and
raw material for other chemical products. The gas can also be used
for sterilization of heat sensitive materials.
